Halloween is just a few days away and we already have seen a lot of cool and spooky creations that our florists made. Flowers in pumpkins, all the orange tones and of course the spooky twists, take for example the waxed roses. They are perfect to use in a Halloween arrangement! In this blog I’ll show you exactly what flowers you need to make your flower arrangements look spook-tastic!

Everything black and orange works for this theme, but also the wild and wiggly flowers! For example, Euphorbia or Black Zantedeschia. I’ll tell you all about them!

Black flowers for Halloween vibes

Like almost every florist knows, black flowers aren’t a natural thing, I think the most common ‘black’ flower is the ‘Rose; Black Baccara’, and even that one is still a bit red… But since black is a much-used color during this day, I’ll give you some options! Again, these might still be similar to another color, but that is inescapable. Here is the top 3 I’ve created of black flowers:

Zantedeschia Odessa Dark Purple

A very good pick when it comes to black flowers, the purple color is so deep that it is almost black, which makes them perfect for a spooky vibe and adds a cool, mysterious touch to any bouquet or arrangement.

Rose Black Baccara

In my opinion, this is the most mysterious rose in the world. The Black Baccara with its velvet petals is the closest that breeders have come to producing a naturally black rose. The Rose is almost black on the outside, but when it opens, it’s got this deep burgundy red color inside.

Lisianthus Bohemian Black Violet

This flower has got a deep, dark violet purple color that’s very close to black. Which makes Lisianthus a nice choice, is that it is still an elegant flower, so if you are aiming for a mysterious yet classy vibe, the Lisianthus Bohemian Black Violet is your go-to!

“'Witch' way to the Orange flowers?“

Orange flowers to match the Pumpkin colors.

This color is a must during the fall/Halloween themes, although, there are a LOT of orange varieties and flowers I have picked my favorites. Remember, we have a color filter on our web shop, so if you want to see what I’m talking about, pick the ‘Orange’ filter and all the orange flowers will pop up!

Chrysanthemums

The reason I’m not mentioning a specific variety is because there are a lot of orange Mums. Besides the wide color range of Mums, they also bring the typical fall vibe with them, so simply said, they are a perfect pick for a Halloween arrangement.

Euphorbia Spray Queen Orange

Just picture this flower drooping over a pumpkin, or in a bouquet with Orange and Black flowers, how cool would that look? Euphorbia has this unique, sort of starry look, which gives it a bit of a witchy feeling. This ‘wild’ flower fits perfectly in the Halloween scene.

Ilex Winter Gold Orange

This flower is a sneaky Halloween gem! First, the bright berries are like little Halloween decorations. They give off this strong pumpkin vibe, and isn’t that what Halloween is all about? If you want to add a natural, fall-ish touch with a bit of spooky vibes to your arrangement… Ilex is the way to go!

Physalis Orange

Also called ‘Chinese Lanterns’, and what fits better with Halloween than that. The color and the shape, it looks like a candy bucket for trick or treat!

“Trick or Treat for Waxed Fruits!“

Halloween themed Waxed flowers

From Black waxed Roses with spiders till waxed fruits like apples and Malus berries. Waxed items are popular during this time of the year. The wax layer preserves the fruit which makes it last longer, this makes them a perfect use in a wreath of long-term decoration. Of course, the aesthetic and seasonal vibe it brings along isn’t unimportant too.

Waxed Apples

These come in a lot of colors, from black till fuchsia or gold. Some florists use them in wreaths for an extra touch in the fall/Halloween aesthetic, especially the Natural waxed apple is so cute to add combined with a twine bow or cinnamon stick, imagine how cute that would look?!

Waxed Malus

The difference between waxed apples and waxed malus isn’t very big, as a matter of fact, malus refers to apple species. They are just smaller and have a slightly different look. These also come in a lot of colors like copper, Xmas red and lavender. It totally depends on the type of floral arrangement you are making; will you choose for the (bigger) waxed apple or for the smaller (maybe more delicate?) waxed malus? Whatever you pick, they are both so cute.

Waxed Hedgehog

Now this is totally different from these two above. The texture is spiky and the colors match the fall/Halloween aesthetic so good! The spines are a spooky extra touch during Halloween because they have this cool, candle-like glow and their spikes bring the creepy feeling.

Waxed Amaryllis bulbs

Easy care is one of the best profits this product has, one of the main draws of waxed amaryllis bulbs is that they require no water or soil. The wax coating feeds the plant, making them incredibly easy to care for, which is perfect for the busy holiday season. Their deep red varieties can call out a dramatic, almost vampiric vibe. They are also perfect to use as a mysterious centerpiece for a Halloween dinner party, especially when paired with candles and other thematic deco.

So, now I’ve given you my best tips to spice up your floral arrangements for this spooky day. Whether you’re going for a dark and mysterious vibe or you choose the orange and pumpkin vibe, they are both amazing and since know that all our florists are artists, we look forward to seeing all the creations!
