At Hoek flowers, we’re big fans of supporting our local communities and products. Especially when it means fresher flowers, a smaller footprint, and giving back to growers close to home. That’s why we’re excited to say you’ll now find even more British grown flowers in our UK Stock! Fresh from the field. Grown just a few miles away. Straight to your shop.

Why go for British Grown Flowers?

Buying British grown flowers is more than just a trend. It’s a great way to support the local economy, reduce environmental impact, and celebrate the craft of homegrown floriculture.

And let’s be honest, how cool is the story behind these flowers! Imagine a dahlia grown and cut by the same person at eight in the morning, delivered to our UK Stock just a few hours later, and sent out to florists across the country the very next day. That level of freshness and connection is something special!

We’re already working with ten brilliant British growers, and the list keeps growing. Each brings their own style, story and care to the flowers you love. Be sure to keep an eye out, because we will be shining the spotlight on them in the future ;)

Our British Seasonal Flowers

The UK flower season brings something beautiful every step of the way. Here’s a quick guide to what British grown flowers are in bloom and when.

Spring Flowers

You can find our spring flowers from March to early June, when everything starts to bloom again. Think soft colours, fresh textures, and the return of some all-time favourites!

You’ll find alstroemeria, outdoor grown narcissus, tulips, Sweet Williams, molucella, alliums, cornflowers, delphiniums, larkspur, sunflowers, Matthiola, Alchemilla Mollis, and ranunculus. And let’s not forget about peonies and hydrangeas!

Summer

From June to the end of August, you can find some amazing British grown summer flowers in our assortment. Bold shapes, wild textures, and endless possibilities. It’s the peak season full of colour and energy!

Expect plenty of dahlias, asters, outdoor-grown chrysanthemums, zinnia, statice, sunflowers, antirrhinum, and Carthamus. You’ll also see larkspur, eryngium, brassica, Tanacetum, agapanthus, Matthiola, gladioli, and plenty of hydrangeas and lilies. And yes, alstroemeria is still going strong.

Autumn

From September to November, we shift into warmer tones and textured stems. It’s time for late season favourites with loads of character.

Look out for incurve chrysanthemums, spray chrysanthemums, zinnia, antirrhinum, sunflowers, asters, dahlia, brassica, Carthamus, lilies, and of course still alstroemeria.

Winter

Once it’s time for shorter days, we luckily still have a few favourites growing close to home.

In winter, you’ll find tulips, narcissus (outdoor grown) and alstroemeria to bring colour and life to your arrangements, even when the fields are quiet.
